The Fall River Arts & Culture Coalition (FRACC) is excited to launch the call for artists for its FRACC Murals program. This exclusive announcement invites talented muralists to participate in an incredible opportunity to create captivating public art in Fall River, Massachusetts.
FRACC Murals aims to bring remarkable large-scale murals to the city, enhancing its cultural landscape and boosting economic development and tourism. FRACC in partnership with the City of Fall River will install a mural on the exterior of the Pearl Street parking garage in 2023.
To be considered for this extraordinary opportunity, artists are invited to submit their applications from July 7, 2023, to August 18, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST. Complete eligibility requirements and guidelines can be found at thefracc.org/murals.
We are seeking a qualified lead muralist(s) and apprentice artist(s) to participate in this project. The selected artist(s) will have the honor of creating a visually stunning mural that will become a significant part of Fall River's artistic legacy.
Up to two apprentices will be selected to support the project. While prior experience with murals or large-scale painting is preferred, it is not required for this position. Apprentices will have the chance to learn and grow under the guidance of the lead muralist, gaining invaluable experience in public art. Additionally, FRACC will offer free mural-focused skill-building workshops during this period, led by the selected site muralists, to enrich the artistic abilities of local artists and encourage community engagement. The specific dates for these workshops will be determined later.
"We are thrilled to invite talented artists to participate in FRACC Murals and contribute to the vibrant arts and culture scene of Fall River," said Ashley Occhino, Executive Director of FRACC. "This call for artists represents an incredible opportunity for artists to showcase their creativity, leave a lasting impact on our community, and be part of the city's ongoing cultural and economic growth."
Interested artists can find the complete guidelines and eligibility criteria, as well as the application form, at thefracc.org/murals. For any questions or submission assistance, please contact fracc@onesouthcoast.com.
